Dear Reader, 2/15/12 marked the 23rd anniversary of the Soviet pullout of Afghanistan, after the Soviet war had killed, wounded or orphaned many thousands of men, women and children and helped to leave the Soviet economy in financial ruin.. That the U.S.'s more than 10 year long Afghanistan War is a disaster to everyone but the U.S.'s military industrial complex is obvious. But the sooner the U.S. government will even acknowledge the horrors it and the Taliban have caused and will negotiate in earnest a settlement, the longer will be the horrific blood letting and massive monetary sinkhole for the U.S., as happened to the Soviets. .
