As it has since 9/11, which is 14 1/2 years ago, the U.S. continues to try to kill its way to peace, and yet peace has yet to come. The U.S. has allies that have joined this kill spree, and enemies that kill in response, often claiming they do so in holy war.
As long as this madness continues, there will be no peace, for peace begins as a state of mind, with love and compassion and a determination to nonviolently resolve issues, not to try to kill them away.
