Brief Update, 1/25/09

Dear Reader,

Attached is "U.S. raid kills Iraqi man, woman in their bed" http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/20090 ... hy/3152656

It is a heart rendering story of what war does to people and how its trauma plants the seeds for future violence. Though the U.S. military claims those killings were justified, these murders and the wounding of a child who slept between her parents will traumatize for the rest of their lives, the Iraqi family that paid its horrific price in blood.

It will also traumatize the soldiers with blood on their hands and those who witnessed it, as the people who died in pools of blood and the cries of their survivors will haunt them endlessly.

What did this bloody ordeal accomplish? No-one has a good answer to that question or even want to reply to it as the U.S. war in Iraq continues, claiming victim after victim.

Soon all of these victims will be forgotten unless you keep them in your heart and you raise your voice to stop this madness. Only then can it find a greater meaning.

Dick
