March Violence In Iraq: 1,886 Killed

The Iraq War begun by the U.S. invasion 11 years ago has no end in sight. Last month 1,886 Iraqi men, women and children were killed and 2,186 were wounded as the violence continues to escalate: http://news.antiwar.com/2014/04/01/1886-killed-in-iraq-in-march-as-violence-continues-to-rise/

In the U.S. no-one accepts responsibility and Iraq is long off the radar screen to the American public and the news media, other than for those U.S. military families bearing their horrific losses from that war.

Few in the American religious community of any faith ever got involved in the Iraq War, let alone raised their voices against it. Certainly Jesus would have been horrified by it but apparently not many who speak in His name, who not only turned the other cheek, but turned away completely.

You and I dear reader as people of conscience must do all that we can to oppose war. For if we don't raise our voices, who will? And we must also help the Iraqi people however we can, as they live in for now an endless nightmare.
